Dust off your big hats and your cowboy/cowgirl boots, climb aboard the large iron horse named “Motorcoach,” and join Sunnyland Travel’s exploration out west! Amarillo, Texas hosts us for two nights as we take in the beauty of Palo Duro Canyon, known as the Grand Canyon of Texas. Several hidden gems and iconic museums highlighting life in the early west will fill our days on the “trail drive.” Fabulous dining, storytelling, and campfires make this unique tour a must-do in Spring 2023! Day 1

Begin your tour with Sunnyland by heading to Amarillo where you will stay the first two nights. (D)

Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your day with a guided tour of Palo Duro Canyon, the “Grand Canyon of Texas.” Lunch will be on your own today as you take some time to explore the canyon. This afternoon we will stop by the Vintage RV Museum, one of the most unique hidden gems of Amarillo, then visit the Cadillac Ranch where you will get the opportunity to spray paint the car of your choosing, and finally tour the National Quarter Horse Museum. This evening, dust off your hats and boots, and get ready for the Cowgirls and Cowboys of the West Dinner and Entertainment. Rest up from your last night in Amarillo, full of storytelling, campfires, and singing cowboys! (B, D)

Day 3

This morning after breakfast, we will depart for Lubbock, TX, where we will visit the Buddy Holly Museum, honoring the famous singer-songwriter of the 1950s, as well as the music of Lubbock and West Texas. After lunch in Downtown Lubbock, we will have a brief tour of the area, with a stop at Prairie Dog Town, followed by a tour of the Fiber Max Museum. Finish off the evening with dinner at a local restaurant and enjoy some evening entertainment. (B, L, D)

Day 4

We will begin our day with a buffet breakfast and then have a guided tour of the American Windmill Museum. We will then make our way to Oklahoma City, stopping for lunch on the way, and finish off the evening with dinner at a local restaurant, before settling into the hotel for the night. (B, D)

Day 5

We will finish our tour today with the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Center with lunch at the museum grill, and finally finish our journey back home to Springfield. (B, L)
