Welcome back to one of Sunnyland’s favorite adventures – Michigan.  This year, explore the heritage of this state that was built on the backs of European immigrants. Dive into Old Bavaria at Frankenmuth (Oh! The family style chicken dinner at Zehnder’s is tasty!) and study the history of the English and French settlers.  History of the sailors of the Great Lakes we will relive at Mackinac Island, a must for any trip to the great mitten. When we return to the Ozarks, you will have a fresh appreciation of the dedication and sacrifice of these early Americans. Day 1

We begin our fall excursion north to Michigan with a stop for a buffet lunch in Illinois on our way to Anderson, IN where we will enjoy a relaxing first night. (L, D)

Day 2

Today, we depart Indiana and make our way for Bavaria! Your tour of Michigan begins in Frankenmuth with the Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland! This evening, we will settle in at the fabulous Bavarian Inn Lodge where we will enjoy a fabulous dinner and stay the next two nights. But not before exploring the Frankenmuth Corn Maze! (B, D)

Day 3

The excitement begins today with a Pretzel-rolling Experience at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant, followed by a guided tour of Frankenmuth. The afternoon is yours, free for shopping and exploring! This evening, be amazed by the workmanship and character of the popular Glockenspiel Experience! Another enjoyable stay at the lodge completes our day. (B, D)

Day 4

Fully rested, we depart for Pinconning, MI where we will visit the Wilson’s Cheese Shoppe. Then, we will head to Mackinaw City, explore Colonial Michilimackinac, and see a Musket Demonstration at the Fort. From there, all aboard a ferry to Mackinac Island where we have a tasty dinner planned and comfortable accommodations for the next two nights. (B, D)

Day 5

While you spend your free morning resting or exploring, the Grand Hotel awaits us today! We will dine at the Grand for lunch! We will spend the afternoon touring the amazing, historical Fort Mackinac. (B, L)

Day 6

Today we will board the ferry and return to Mackinaw City where our motor coach will pick us up to begin our journey toward home. This evening’s rest will be in Terra Haute, IN. (B, L, D)

Day 7

Our final leg of this fabulous tour is a relaxing ride with new friends you’ve made along the way. Plan your next Sunnyland tour over lunch before arriving back in Springfield. (B, L)
