Honoring the brave soldiers that allow us to have the freedoms we so enjoy, while exploring the battlefields and locations that helped shape our country. Visiting our history of the revolutionary and civil wars, the locations of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, and the battlefields of Gettysburg and Valley Forge you will step back in time. Come along with us as we explore our nations history and the Heroes of America.

Day 1

We depart today to begin our journey of history. We will stop this evening in Green River Kentucky, where we begin our historic journey at Patti’s 1880 settlement for dinner. (D)

Day 2 and Day 3

Today, we continue on to West Virginia where we will stay for 2 nights at the Green Briar Hotel, tour its Civil War bunker, and begin our history exploration. (B) (B)

Day 4

We leave the bunker of Green briar and head to Virginia Beach where we will be for 2 nights. Today, you can choose to venture out to the National Parade of Nations Festival or enjoy the boardwalk. This evening we will marvel at the international Military Tattoo. (B, D)

Day 5

This morning, we will have more time to do whatever you missed or enjoying more of what you did yesterday, going to the Parade of Nations Festival or Virginia Beach boardwalk. Later, we will see one of the largest private collections of World War I and World War II era military aircraft in the world, at the Military Aviation Museum. (B)

Day 6

Today, we head to Arlington and to see the Yorktown Battlefield, the land where the British surrendered to American and French forces in 1781. This afternoon, we will take a tour to see all the must-see sites in Washington DC.

Day 7

Our second day in Arlington, we will start with George Washington’s Mount Vernon tour. Later, we will gaze at the wonders of the world in the Smithsonian and finish our day with a moonlight tour of Arlington Cemetery.

Day 8

Now we head to the historic town of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where we will spend the next two nights. Today we will visit the Winterthur Museum and Gardens, followed by a trip to the National Constitution Museum.

Day 9

We start our day today with a tour of “Philly”.  After hitting the big the sights we will have some free time to explore on our own for lunch. After our meal, we will meet back up and head to the Museum of the American Revolution, then finish up our afternoon of exploration at Valley Forge, touring this great National Historic Park.

Day 10

We depart Philadelphia and stop for lunch in Amish Country at the Kettle Kitchen and Amish Store. We will then continue our journey to Gettys Burg where we will have a city and battlefield tour. You will have plenty of time today to explore on your own or relax before settling in for the evening.

Day 11

Today, we begin our journey home and stop for the night in Washington, Pennsylvania

Day 12

Continuing our trip home, today we stop for a brief tour at Connors Prairie for a last bit of history on our final night together.

Day 13

Today is the last leg of our journey home with nothing left but to remember the Heroes of America we have just learned about, revel in the history of the past, and reminisce with our new friends.
