Day 1

Our first day begins in Springfield and ends in Waco where we’ll stop for the night after dinner at one of our favorite Texas restaurants.  Get settled into the hotel for a relaxing evening. (D)

Day 2

Up early for breakfast at the hotel and back on the road to Austin and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.  After strolling through the Gardens with your camera, grab a box lunch under the pergola.  Board the coach, sit back and enjoy the scenic ride through the Hill Country with rolling meadows of bluebonnets and other wildflowers.

Arriving in San Antonio we will board a riverboat for a tour of the famed Riverwalk. Land back at our hotel, located near the Riverwalk and close to restaurants, shops and many Fiesta activities. This evening, we will view the Battle of Flowers Festival River Parade before settling in for the night. (B,L,D)

Day 3

After breakfast, join us for one of the highlights of any trip to southern Texas:  a leisurely tour of three of San Antonio’s famous Old Spanish Missions:  Mission San Jose Y de Aguayo, Mission Nuestra Senora de Le Purisima Conception, and of course Mission San Antonio De Valero (better known as The Alamo).  Our host is one of San Antonio’s veteran tour guides and local historians.

Day 4

Our tour guide has some exciting activities planned for today! Stay tuned for further details. (B, D)

Day 5

Enjoy one last morning and breakfast along the Riverwalk before loading the coach for a quick trip to Schulenburg, a spirited German community halfway between San Antonio and Houston.  We’ll go for a special tour of Schulenburg’s renown Painted Churches.  You’ll marvel at these ornate and beautifully decorated houses of worship…the craftsmanship will amaze you!

Day 6

Pack up after breakfast and leave the Bluebonnets and Mission Bells behind as we make our way through Oklahoma.  Last stop – Springfield. But before leaving for our own homes, start making plans for the next great adventure with Sunnyland Travel Center.  Buenos amigos, buena comida y buenos tiempos!
